Poll: If someone offered you $3 million, but the catch is you have to kill your dog,

Recommended Posts

Thats so sad.:(

Thanks... I'm not kidding though... I do animal rescues and he was going to be put down, he was so sick... my taking care of him and focusing on him is what got me through the worst heartache I have ever had...

He was brought into my life at just the right time... I thank God for him...

That's great and I love my pet too...but I still don't believe you. Three mill can also get you through some dark hours!

How many dark hours do you think you COULD have with 3M??? I would imagine others would make sure things stayed at least somewhat sunny.

Money is all fine and dandy, but it's not the end all be all... I'm not rich by any means, but I've learned that money can be evil as well... all the money in the world can not make a person truly happy... you will still be empty inside.

Tink, you had a great point there!

Guin, you're right and that's what I thought you'd say. But I'm not empty now so I don't think I'd be empty if I were 3 mill richer.

But sure..it's NOT the be all end all as you said. But it would go a LONG way towards securing my family's future and and in my book that counts for a lot.

using that logic, you could do the same to a person if you weren't afraid of legal consequences

Killing a dog, killing a pig, killing a turkey, all the same thing. I don't have any pets and never will, so it really will never apply to me. But I won't like to have $3 million, I'm lucky to get paid more than I need but even that does not make me happy. When my ex walked out the door no amount of money would have made me feel better.

Not at all. I think that's twisted logic on your part. In my book all living beings are NOT equal. (Yeah, the PETA nutcases love me!)

No amount of money or financial security could make me kill another human being but a pet? Yes, I would do it.

So miss snoopy, if I offered you 3 mill (after offing my pet) you'd turn it down? Ha ha! Yeah...right.

The difference here is between people who care more about something else other than themselves. The truly selfish people said that they would do it for the money. The sympathetic caring people said there was no way.

One of the ones who said they would do it must be my ex girlfriend she was a money grubbing bi*ch. I feel sorry for those of you who said that they would do it. So sad...

I wonder how many women would take three million to abort a fetus?

Well I don't know but I wouldn't be one of them. I had to have an abortion once. I don't recommend it for ANY amount of money.

That would be morally wrong in my view.

I wonder how many women would take three million to abort a fetus?

I'd do it for free just to drive people crazy about how hypocritical I am.

Anywho, Touche,

What kind of example would it set to my kid if I chose a PET over the security of our FAMILY? Sorry, don't know about you but my family's well-being and security would come first.

I should preface by saying I *don't* have any kids. BUT, my family (me and My Fair Husband) is financially secure. We also have safety nets in place as far as disability insurance, supplimental health insurance, IRAs, savings accounts, etc. If I did have kids I wouldn't want to set the example that a pet is a commodity instead of a responsiblity.

By the way, to add to the hypocracy, 3 million is a lot and I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't seriously consider killing someone ELSE's dog for that kind of dough. I'd doubt I'd do it, it's pretty mean, but I wouldn't be as shocked or turned off by it.

Your little theory is flawed. Go back and re-read my posts. I never once even thought about the money for myself first. I'm thinking about my family...my son, my husband, my stepson, my mom and even my sister. I want my family to be happy and secure and that will make ME happy and secure.

Don't feel sorry for me. I'm not a money grubbing bitch just because I'd choose my family's happiness over my pet's life.

What a narrow-minded view point you have.

The answer is: no, I won't do anything for $3 million as I'm lucky and blessed to have more than enough money in my savings account thanks to my earnings and inheritance. For all the money I have, I'm sitting on my sofa with my laptop browsing the net on a friday evening mourning my dead relationship... that's the point I was trying to make, there comes a point where money becomes meaningless.

what's ironic is there are many women who would gladly get pregnant with the intention of aborting their fetus for 3 million ,but they'd have a problem killing their dog.

Yes, I completely agree with you, MS. And I am truly sorry for your unhappiness. You're so right, money can't buy you happiness.

But we're already happy so the money wouldn't be buying happiness. What it would buy is financial security and a relatively worry-free existence. The chance to pursue our dreams and it would also buy FREEDOM. A lot to be said for all of that.

Why not take a little of that inheritance and so something special for yourself? Hope you feel better soon.

I wouldnt kill my dog, or anyones dog for £3mill.

I'm sorry, but my dog is just a pet its part of my family. Its a quite vile question to ask.

Would you be offended if I admitted to you that I'd kill your dog for 3 mill?

To the poster say stated if any women would abort a fetus for 3 million dollars. Why not, isn't abortion legal afterall. I know, I know what you all gonna think "But wouldn't you have feelings, giving birth to a living being". If I don't want the child, I have no obligation in keeping it as I got no desires for kids and plus I don't have the abilities nor skills of being a parent. Frankly I would freak out with a kid. My lil bro. is a brat, but oh well cna't do nothing, that was my mom's choice. But if it were my choice, it would either be abortion or giviing it away to adoption.

Well I can understand people that love their pets as part of their family wouldn't do it, but let's not make it a question of dogs in general.

People tend to like animals that are fluffy and 'cute and disregard the ones that aren't completely.

Truth is humans have to kill other life to sustain theirs, just like animals do, so what's the logical criteria that makes you decide it's atrocious to eat dog meat or kill dogs but not pig,cow etc. meat? None in my view...

Wow, so are you saying you'd have no problem getting pregnant for the sole purpose of aborting it to collect 3 mill. I could never do that.

maybe that's why tink and touche can kill someone else's pet... they have no affiliation to them. Now if it was my own cow or pig... one that I raised, I still couldn't do it.

Culture plays a large part in what people will and wont kill/eat - Celts worship horses - so wouldnt kill and eat them - then the french who are just across the water, however did not and do kill and eat them.

Some people have pet pigs and I guess that although they may not eat that particular animal - they still have bacon for breakfast.

Humans are omnivores and are 'designed' to eat most things. I still not going kill my dog.

Animals kill to survive - few kill for the sake of it. What raises us above animals if we kill for the point of killing????

Morals should play a part in people lives, if they dont you're one step from anarchy.
