My boyfriend is dealing with depression. I am trying to be supportive, as we have just moved in together. (about 4 months ago)

This is not the first time that this has happened he has "episodes" once or twice a year.

He finished school in June and has not worked or even looked for work since then. I work full time and I make enough money for us to live on but I am startingto feel like he just isn't doing his share. As I said I am trying to be as understanding and supportive as I can be.

I really could use some help....direction....advice....support...anything....

I am really worried about him and about us. Normally he is the sweetest, most loving and giving guy - but when he gets like this it scares me.

Please don't say "dump him" because I won't entertain the thought. I love him dearly and I want to help him....

Hi there 1st off let me say your not alone I found myself in the same type of situation. My roomate/best friend suffers from extreem depreshion as well. His got so bad that he would have major mood swings from being sweet one min to depressed and almost violent the next. Its been a real struggle to get a handel on things. But hes now on anti depressent meds and hes like a diffrent person. My suggestion is talk to him and tell him what your seeing how hes so depressed. Some times they dont even know it them selves. Suggest he talk to his doctor about it and see if they can get him on some meds to help stabalize him. Also make sure to support him as much as you can thu it all. Let him know that its ok to get help once in a while. Cuz there can some times be a kinda stigma about seeking mentil health. I hope this helps you a bit i know its hard but just hang in there hope everything works out for you in the end :)
