....which happens to be smeared all over my chest right now......:lmao:

Excellent strategy - it's so hard to lick stuff off your own chest. And the aroma is semi-satisfying, all by itself.

Don't be the first one to break. You all can do it (notice I didn't say we). Now who was it that mentioned chocolate?...

I'm in. I can't start today because I've already had a beer, a coke, and a fried chicken sandwich, but I can start tomorrow and I will go for 30 days. I can't even think of 90, but maybe after 30 days I will reconsider.

Your rules:

1. NO FAST FOOD

2. NO deep-fried foods

3. NO excess sugars

4. NO "bad carbs" (white rice, white bread)

5. NO alcohol

6. NO RED MEAT

7. REASONABLE amounts of "good carbs" (brown rice/pasta, fruit, etc.)

8. LOW-FAT/FAT FREE snacks only

9. WATER WATER WATER

10. GYM 3x-4x a week

I can abide by those except my "gym" will have to be exercise in my home. I am going to take vitamins, too. I might partake in red meat, but I'll keep it to a minimum. I wish I liked fish, chicken and pork get so boring for too long. My other rule for me is no weighing myself daily. I need to let results be checked weekly instead. Even one pound per week would be okay. Just cutting out alcohol would probably take off one pound per week for me. That will be my hard rule, but I can do it.

I've been waiting for the Super Bowl to be over, too, and planned to do something like this. It's good to have company.

So far, so good.

My big meal for the day has been a turkey sub on whole wheat (I dont eat cheese or mayo, so the fat content is quite low)...

Some water, some diet iced tea.

Then it hit me...

I have nothing really healthy in the house to eat yet. :(

I will piece together some sort of simple meal tonight, and go shopping tomorrow. :)

That sounds like a good first day. I'm going shopping tomorrow myself. As I said, I have been working up to this so I have been diligent in trying to get rid of (ie: eat) all the stuff that will be tempting to me. My family will balk because no chips for Mom means no chips in the house. Chips are my weakness. I can easily eat a whole thing of salsa and half a bag of chips and call that lunch. The family can still have burgers, chicken tenders, etc. and I will fix myself a broiled chicken breast or something. I love veggies, so that will be easy. I will probably pick up a few weight watchers and lean cuisine meals, too, for variety.

tp, are you embarking on this as a lifestyle change to adopt, with weight loss a nice byproduct, or is weight loss the primary goal? Weight loss is my primary goal, but I do recognize that a lifestyle change would be far more beneficial and I hope to make some permanent changes. I'm just too awed by anything more than 30 days. Two weeks seems like forever to me. But I'm intent that 30 days would show enough difference to see change and give me the strength to plow forward. I'm going to take measurements and a weight stat then leave it alone until next Tuesday. That will be hard for me, I truly weigh myself several times daily, which is ridiculous. It fluctuates by as much as four pounds at points. I don't need the scale to tell me anything, my clothes are speaking loud and clear!

Good luck, and keep posting. I'll report my progress too. If I slip, I'll report that too.

I have an addiction to LoveShack. Who dares me to go away for 90 days?

Longer by appointment.

I dare you. But I'll bet you would just come under another nom de LS if you manage to find something that rymes with tragic.

I just had a semi-healthy dinner.... whole wheat pasta with some tomato sauce and a little turkey sausage... fairly low in fat, high in protein....

Looks like I will survive day 1 without cheating. ;)

My motivation to do this is half for my health, half for my confidence. I made this a hard diet on purpose, because I know that if I follow through for 90 days, that's a major "win" for me.

I need a win. The last several years of my life have been one failure after another. Laid off from jobs, never being happy at work, 2 failed relationships, a miscarriage, many bad dates, friends turning on me, my artistic "pursuits" basically going nowhere.......

I need ONE win to prove to myself I'm worth something. I know I sound like I'm being hard on myself, but I need this. If I do this properly and don't lose an ounce, I'm still a winner for sticking it out. I'm a notorious quitter, it's the things that I DIDN'T quit when I should have that hurt the most.

Now of course, I want to lose weight. I was 400lbs once. I'll slit my wrists before I become THAT "me" again. I fought my way down from 395 to 300 in a matter of a couple of months once, then I let relationship and job stress sabotage everything.

I know I don't look it (no one ever believes me), but I'm in the mid-upper 300's in weight, though I'm very physically active (working out, playing softball, bartending 7-10 hours at a clip)..... I feel it in my soul that things will be turning around for me soon... but my health is the one thing I CAN control, NOW.

Besides, when my hot soulmate meets me, I want to look my best in silk boxers for her. ;) And since I've been celibate for almost 8 months now, I need all of me in tip-top shape for some serious hardcore sex. :) My next sexual partner is definately in for it. :)

But of course, I'd like to have kids and live to see them graduate college and become rich enough to take care of me (and my harem) in my old age. :)

A new, MORE CONFIDENT, and healthier me.

That's my motivation.

still hungry, but he'll deal. :)

Please, no! I shudder to think. How about just limit your time or posts as a substitute? Or when you are absolutely dying to make a comment, refrain from doing so just once daily.

tp, I think you will lose weight. For me weight loss leads to confidence. You definitely do not look like you weigh that much, but neither do I. We must have heavy bones or something.

I have 2 and 1/2 hours to indulge and I do have two things on my list then it's on. I won't mention them out of support for you. One thing I have learned from reading so many dieting websites, and it's something I intend to do, is to eat several small meals instead of two or three larger ones. I will feel deprived a bit just by not having some of my fave foods, so I am going to try to eat a little something every 2-3 hours. It' supposed to keep your digestive system working all day and thus burn more calories, too. I hope that will keep me from feeling like I am starving.

TTY tomorrow!

Bitch! :)

Wow. That's really sweet. You know, I think it is kind of weak to think you can't ration your time - even when you have admitted to yourself that you're addicted.

I will definitely need to cut down, lest I perish in "professional" circles. But, in theory, it should be manageable.

Maybe.

Lucky there is plenty of jokester talent around here. I believe your posts have a great deal more value than my quips, dropdeadlegs, but thank you. :bunny:

So maybe you're not a bitch. I take part of that back.

Hmmm... but what is a zajic?? That sounds made-up to me. Pelagic has some potential.

Whilst you were posting I found a zajic resource, not very promising:

http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=zajic&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Pelagic is one of my favourite words. (It really is, I'm not kidding) I shall try not to use it in a sentence for 90 days as my challenge, which is hard whilst birding by the ocean in the winter.

Do you think I can trust LSers to spell pelagic? I hate to think what I might get called by mistake.

I think that you are underestimating the brain power here on LS. :bunny:

Zajic

Czech (Zajíc) and Slovak (Zajac): from zajíc ‘hare’, hence a nickname for a swift runner or a coward, one quick to run away.

Darn it TG, you are not eligible for PM's yet and I so hate to threadjack tp because he is one of my faves here. I had to look up pelagic, and I have a considerable vocabulary. This place is a learning experience every day. It is also addictive for me as well. It's more fun than vacuuming as evidenced by my living room.

You have a unique sense of humor and humor is important to this forum. We could all use more laughter in a place filled with heartbreak. I enjoy your posts, even though once in awhile I have to go "Hmmm?" You are probably more intelligent than I am and I just won't get a particular reference or something. You keep me on my toes, even with crossed legs.

We're right behind you, tp. With a big rubber dildo. Don't make us use it.

Seriously, you can do it. You're already 1.11111111% there!

I know, DDL, I feel bad for encouraging bad hj behaviour on tp's thread, but TG is as irresistable as an opened bag of potato chips. I vow to have NC, or maybe at least LC with TG for the next 90 days. :bunny:

We're back on topic! (Yes, TG is adorable and the chips reference hit home for me Just had my last nibbles for 30 days, with DIP, no less. tp is awesome, too.)

No rubber dildo chases for me tp, we're in this together! I could use a good WIN for myself, I tend to give up too easily.

Good luck polywog, LC will be difficult at best! The man with the magic, I mean tragic, glands has led me on many hijacking missions. Then again, tp and I have a tendency to get off topic at times too. I'm sure he will forgive my indiscretion and continue our mutual admiration for one another. (Please?)

tp is awesome

This, we know to be true.

No rubber dildo chases for me tp

Yeah, umm... why would I chase you with a dildo, when I have something much, much nicer to implement.......

tp and I have a tendency to get off topic at times too. I'm sure he will forgive my indiscretion and continue our mutual admiration for one another. (Please?)

Does that mean I still get to make sexual innuendos?

And by innuendo, I mean in YOUR end....OH!!! :)

I love the sexual tension we have, even if I can't really have you :(

that was a cheap joke

Of course!;)

Have a great and successful second day! I have some serious shopping to do and it's almost exciting to think that at least I won't be buying the same old crap again!

I'm missing my morning coffee, but it's excessive sugar for me. I like it sweet.

I'll join you guys but my 90 days is a little different.

1.) Continue with weight watchers. (I've lost 20lbs and need 25 to go)

2.) exercise 3x a week.

3.) do something for myself at least once a week.

4.) start painting or drawing again

Also dropdeadlegs I eat 6 small meals and it really helps me feel full throughout the day.

Also I would be so strict allow a little treat every now and again. I like to take it one day at a time because 90 days can seem overwelming so when I wake up I say to myself today I will eat healthy. It is not so overwelming that way.
