dropdeadlegs
I am not an expert, or I wouldn't be here trying to shed some poundage, but I do not think that was too much protein for you. I think you are doing very well. I am wondering if I am consuming enough fat. I had 9 grams for lunch and I think that was all. My dinner was a one pan dish with boneless skinless chicken breast, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, penne pasta, red peppers, green peppers, yellow peppers, onions, and teriyaki sauce. The whole pan had 1800 calories and I estimate my portion to have been 1/6. 300 calories and I was very satisfied. Lunch was a lean Cuisine meal of turkey medallions, bread stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans with little pieces of cranberry. 290 calories, 9 gms fat. For breakfast I had my usual two cups of coffee, (200 calories) and an english muffin with margarine (about 150 cals) calories. I had snacks of yogurt (60 cals.) Oh there was some fat in the margarine, too. That makes 14gms. I am trying so hard to eat more balanced meals than I normally do. I think I could use more dairy, though. Dairy has never been a big part of my diet due to lactose intolerance. And I'm gassy, again, thanks to the dinner veggies. I hope that will subside in time. You are doing great and I am very proud of you! I think you will lose tons of weight quickly at the rate you are going, but if you suddenly stop losing, you may actually need more calories. You don't want your body to go into starvation (conservation) mode due to a big change. I am wary of that myself. This is a very big change.
dropdeadlegs
I have been doing good at eating healthier for the last few days, I have been getting juice instead of coffee or pop, I have been eating whole wheat bagels instead of chocolate coffee cake. I went to the store and bought apples so I could eat them for snacks instead of trail mix or chips. I haven't managed to do a cardio workout because I haven't had access to my gym because I have been house sitting but I have been walking their dog a lot. I need to get better at actually working out... Get past exams and house sitting and you will have more time. Your activity level and general fitness has to allow you SOME leeway! I am truly sedentary to a fault. Can you say couch potato?
hotgurl
I exercised three times this week. But I ate badly a lot of chocolate. I didn't lose or gain. So next week I'll try harder.
GoldPenny
To the original poster, I'm with you all the way! I am thin, but am still flabby and would like to lose about 10 pounds. I want to finally lose my virginity at the end of such a challenge. It'll most likely take me only six-eight weeks, but hell, I've got boils and acne that I hope to find a working solution to with the help of a dermatologist. Also, with this, I'll be much more confident to accept seductive invitations. My business life, hobbies, and all would be easier to concentrate on as well because my looks seem to be my number one priority that is always front and center now and are distracting. Author Teacher's Pet
GoldPenny.. Just remember.. No matter what you may think of yourself... there is ALWAYS someone out there who think you are perfect the way you are. Hell, I'm being "chased" right now. Me! Mr. 150lbs overweight has a cute 26yr old aching for me. Don't laugh, we're going out tomorrow, and I've already seen her (sorta) naked. Ahh, the internet. One of my close friends (female) told me I NEED a "dirty girl". Think I found one. -tp did I mention she's a teacher? lol
magichands
No I'm not... -tp peekaboo! Na na na na na... I can't hear you. What was that about a naked twentysomething??
dropdeadlegs
Of course you're being chased. You're coll and cool = hot. But a TEACHER? Are you okay? I'm Just not sure you're ready for another teacher, my pet. Other than that, I just plain suck. Apparently I like being too big for my plethora of clothes. I do great for 3-4 days and then I succumb to the pizza and beer offered by my BF. I asked him if he is purposely trying to sabotage me, and he responded that I'm perfect the way I am (good thing) and that if I'm heavier I am less attractive to others ie: all his. That is not cool. I'm buying him 10 pounds of chocolate to make him less attractive. I wonder if he worries that he would be less attractive to me....Probably not since I am so enamored. Author Teacher's Pet
Tonight, while I was doing my laundry, the laundromat attendant, a guy in his 40's came up to me. "Can I ask you a question?" "Sure.........." "How did you lose so much weight?" *jaw dropped* We wound up talking for over a half hour about weight loss, his son, life in general..... To be honest, I haven't been as "perfect" as I wanted to be on this "project" so far, but I know I feel a little different..... What a boost though for a relative stranger to say that, though! *sighs* If only it were the OTHER attendant who works there, a Spanish girl in her early 20's... mucho ta-ta's, and a mucho bueno culo. At least I know I'm doing something right, even if not perfectly. -tp pinga grande
dropdeadlegs
Now I need an interpretor....I understood the tata's part. Today, I sucked again. I hate myself sometimes. Any idea how much you've lost? I'm really proud!

I still have been attracting attractive guys, but just not as strongly or as many as I'd like, you see. Kudos to you and the cute 26 year old! Lol. Great!

That thing was huge. I've never bought that large a bar of chocolate before. Plus, since it was Jacques Torres, it was destined to be good. :-) Glad you liked it. hehe. Wasn't good for your diet but hey in my defense you weren't on the diet yet LOL

hotgurl
wow tp congrats on the weight loss. I lost another pound last week. Slow and steady I guess and I started exercising. Plus I started drawing. Part of the challenge for me was to get back into art.
ShoeGirl
I have been eating healthy, working out 3 times a week and doing some muscle toning exercises for a few weeks... but I think I am gaining weight, not a ton but it's noticeable (I don't own a scale to check for sure). I was losing weight before I started sticking to a schedule so I'm not sure what is going on. Has anyone started gaining weight like this before?
skimmy
One of my close friends (female) told me I NEED a "dirty girl". Think I found one. A little late in the conversation but better late than never...I can't wait to meet her one of these days, TP. And congrats on the weight loss! That could be because you're gaining muscle now, and muscle weighs more than fat. i wouldn't worry about it. All that muscle tone will help you burn off a little more fat during your resting periods than you did without it. I'm trying out this new thing where I eat only fruits and vegetables and whole grains and a very little protein and fat (in the form of hummus, my new favorite snack) and then not worrying too much about dinner. Yesterday I blew it a little, had some chips from the snack box at work and a rice krispy treat Then I went to Hooter's for a friend's birthday. So far today I've been good, I had a banana, snack sized pineapples, applesauce, raisins, celery w/ pb, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots dipped in hummus, oj, and whole wheat melba toast. It's 5pm and I'm not at all hungry. (But I've been going to the bathroom like a m'f'er!) Hitting the gym tonight, then my bf is cooking for me (awww). Hopefully this system will work because I can control my eating during the day much better I can with dinner, because of my social life. And I don't want to sacrifice that so.... dropdeadlegs
hummus, my new favorite snack I have always wondered what hummus tastes like. Is it like anything else in any way? I don't like tofu or cottage cheese and i imagine those might be the closest tastes to hummus. Can you tell me anything?
dropdeadlegs
tp, I have been waiting for the weight loss info. You're not going to break your first promise to me, are you? I also want to hear about your date with the hot 25 year old so I can live vicariously through you, kinda like I am on this dieting thing. I had a Whopper Jr, fries, and a medium coke today, but that's all I intend to eat! Not healthy, not lo-cal, but certainly within my calorie limit.

I don't like tofu or cottage cheese and i imagine those might be the closest tastes to hummus. Can you tell me anything? I can. It's good. I don't know how to explain it. My sister in law had me try it once. I thought I was going to do, as I don't like tasting new things. But I dipped some fritos in it. It was good! I had the Roasted Peppers one. I know that didn't help at all, but just wanted to assure you that it's good.
