What is a "GOOD" Chocolate?

Recommended Posts

Lindt here is a separate brand from Green and Blacks.

Both are pretty good.

You just said they were to die for. Make up your mind! Or is your life kind of getting you down?

'hotel chocolat' handmade chocolates are the best i've ever tasted. absolutely divine. you must try their salted caramels. <weeps for joy in remembrance of them>

i've tasted a lot of chocolate. swiss, belgian, that hideous hershey stuff, and these are the absolute best chocs on the planet. no joke. they're to die for.

i think they deliver overseas too. oh yeah, they're english. is that a problem three days before valentine's?? :p

sb129, i LOVE green and black's dark chocolate with cherries. £2.49 from sainsbury's. :)

OK ok keep your knickers on. Maybe I am getting a little over enthusiastic.

CHOCOLATE is to die for. I am not fussy. In fact I am what some people might call a chocolate slut. In anyway shape or form, I'll have it.

I just called our local Target store and they have a few bags left so I'm headed out to get one.

Thanks everyone for the help!

Now I might have to come up with a cool idea to make them into a heart container. ;)

Good point! I would probably do both. But not at the same time there are laws against that. Yucky. Not that I like girls, but Maggie is pretty Magnetic.

Now remember children, chocolate contains lots of bad things like fat and sugar so brush your teeth to prevent cavities and too many calories is bad for the sexy lingerie look...

It's a miracle! I still say she'd like a king-size Snickers. They really satisfy.

OK science geek answer here. Toothpaste is poisonous in large doses. Half a tube can kill a small child.

So if it tasted like chocolate........there would be fewer small children in the world. Or in Magichands house.

And who you calling a dumbarse?

haven't eaten any European chocolate in awhile, and US chocolate is too sugary, for the most part. However, Dove seems to be the best I've found, in particular, their dark chocolates. They have just enough sugar to take away that bitter sting of dark chocolates.

I know Art would agree – apparently he keeps whole bags of the stuff at work!

from what i've heard our european friends are not into milk chocolate too much, they prefer the dark krap i guess..

I would suggest a higher cocoa content chocolate.

Lindt and Godiva are not bad the higher cocoa like 60% or higher. That means 40%, ie. nuts, prailne, filling, etc... Those chocolates tend to be healther and more expensive. The south american ones are pretty good.

Those boutique stores are excellent to get info and to buy some stuff. The cocoa from venezuelan, madagascar, equateur, ghana, and other places are good. The american ones tend to have less than 40% cocoa and filled with sugars, fat, and other fillers.

I'll suggest the better Lindt, Godiva, and a few boutiques like armani, pierre marcolini, nake chocolate, etc... You maybe paying $2-3 a piece instead of a box.

The cocoa content is key for me. I like the ones with a really high cocoa content, 70% at least. That means the sugar is low and the pure chocolate taste comes through. Those with this higher content have the health benefits, too.

O.K. I got the blue bag of truffles & I got a candy bar that is 80% cocoa so that should do the trick.

Now if she doesn't like it then I can blame everyone that suggested it. :p:lmao:

And if she likes it then it was my idea & she will be very impressed.

Nice thing about it was I paid less for these two items then what Lindt wanted for a fancy heart shaped box of candy & I got more chocolate.;)

Good Job PWSX3...

she will like it, but not everyone likes the dark dark chocolate, anything above 60% you really have to have a taste for. I hope she likes the dark chocolate...

Did you find a box to put it in?

Opps, I just looked and the candy bar is 70% not 80%, must be the eyes are going bad, old age.

No I didn't find a box, but I'll get something rounded up, I have a pretty good imagination when it comes to that kind of stuff.

I might just buy one of those pretty gift bags and put everything in it including the purple Teddy Bear because the truffles are in a fancy bag & the candy is wrapped pretty.

We have a date for Valentines evening, her idea so I don't know where we are going, but I got a new shirt & pants & I'll be ready to go anywhere, and I'm going to look good doing it. ;)
