ratingsguy
Here's something to make people think a little bit. I had a really nice part-time job as a DJ at a radio station in a big city. I got paid really well to play music on the radio. Who wouldn't dig that? Unfortunately, I had to quit and move out of state. I left on very good terms. I didn't want to leave, but I had a full-time job offer half way accross the country. Long story short, this job didn't pan out, and I ended up returning to where I came from only 2 months after leaving. My full-time job took me back in a heartbeat, and the radio job would have, too. Only problem was that my boss hired my replacement the week after I left. So what I did was call him once a month to see if there were any openings. Most of the time, he didn't return the calls. I sent a Christmas card. Still nothing. Just a week ago, a former co-worker at the radio station e-mailed me to say that the guy who replaced me had left the station. So I immediately called my boss and left a message with him that I'd love to come back (as if he didn't hear that before!). He was on vacation, but a week later he called me back and asked to me to come in. I just got home from that meeting and now I have my old job back. It just goes to show that you never know what's possible... and I guess don't burn bridges! Food for thought.
